‘Teen Titans GO! to the Movies’ Releases Poster that Pokes Fun at ‘Justice League’ Poster

It was pretty devastating when Cartoon Network’s Teen Titans was cancelled. The show struck a beautiful balance between drama and comedy, where the drama felt real and relatable and the comedy was actually laugh out loud funny at some points. One of my favorite aspects of the show was its prevailing theme of friendship that made me weep more times than I’d like to admit.

Since then, that iteration of the Titans have returned, but not quire in the same way. Instead, the characters are chibi-ized, as in they’re smaller and cuter than their more dramatic counterparts. The show is far more fit for today’s sense in that it’s faster and quicker than it used to be. It’s also pretty wickedly clever in satirizing superheroes and comics. Unfortunately, the show simply isn’t for me. It is, however, extremely popular. So much so that, there’s a theatrical feature coming out entitled Teen Titans GO! to the Movies, in case you didn’t know. Not even the first series received that treatment.

So far the marketing material is very tongue-in-cheek and very funny. The trailer itself constantly pokes fun at itself while still making hilarious topical references to DC’s live-action slate of flicks.

Because if Aquaman can get a movie, anyone can.

I can do without the low brow fart humor, but the self-deprecation, the fourth wall-breaking, and the DC references is where the humor truly shines.

The news today is that we’ve got another piece of marketing that’s sure to make you smile and even chuckle a bit. Remember the gorgeous Alex Ross inspired poster with the large tagline made up of the characters’ insignias?

Well, Teen Titans GO! to the Movies is parodying that now, featuring all the aforementioned elements that have really made this marketing campaign worth it.

Take a look:

The little details are what make this worth it. Cyborg stands in the same place as his live-action counterpart, while Robin is positioned identically to his mentor. This movie is going to be worth a watch.

Teen Titans GO! to the Movies will hit the big screen on July 27th!
