Potential ‘Justice League’ Extended Cut Shows Up Online

Ever since Justice League hit theaters a couple of months ago, fans have been begging Warner Bros. for Zack Snyder’s original cut of the film. They created a petition and even, most recently, organized a peaceful protest outside of WB HQ.

Well, according to Amazon (Germany), we might be getting an extended cut of the film after all, just probably not the one Snyder fans were hoping for. A recent listing on the online retailer’s site shows a limited version that has a 135 minute run time, as opposed to the just under 2 hour runtime we got.

Seeing as this edition only adds about 15 minutes to the film, it is unlikely that this is the “Snyder Edition” fans want, but will likely include a couple of scenes that were cut. It is also unknown if these would be Snyder or Whedon directed scenes. One possible scene could be the black suit Superman scene that fans were hoping for. In the Death and Return of Superman story, when Superman comes back from the dead he sports a black suit. Henry Cavill teased such a suit on Instagram last year, but it never appeared in the film.

Other potential scenes that could be added is Alfred in the Batcave talking to, we can only assume, Superman or additional Barry Allen scenes that were also in the trailers but not the final film.

Ever since Zack Snyder left the project last spring and Joss Whedon took over, fans seem pretty split on how WB has handled this film. Even the final product either has people on team Whedon or team Snyder. Personally, while I would be interested to see what a Snyder cut would look like, I think WB is ready to just put Justice League and all the films before it (sans Wonder Woman) behind them and move forward into a new era of DC Films.

The first film in DC Film’s unofficially named “Phase 2” will be James Wan’s Aquaman on December 21, 2018, which sees Jason Mamoa return as the King of Atlantis. It will also be the first film under the new head of DC Films Walter Hamada.

No matter what the truth is behind the extended cut listed on Amazon Germany or if Snyder’s cut really exists, fans will be able to get their digital hands on Justice League on January 30, 2018 on iTunes. No official Blu-ray or DVD dates have been announced.
