‘Justice League’ News – Joss Whedon Working On Movie Before Zack Snyder Tragedy

The latest Justice League news reports that Joss Whedon was working on the movie before Zack Snyder had to bow out of the project. CBR.com broke the story after an interview with the film’s producer, Charles Roven.

We were saddened by the events that caused Zack Snyder to leave and turn the reins over to Joss Whedon. He was already working with us on the additional photography, and it was fortunate that he agreed to step in and help Zack finish his vision. We’re excited about that.

Dark Knight News has already reported that reshoots have not yet started on the project, though when they go ahead it will be in order to help polish the final cut of the movie, as well as to factor in all the other films the cast has committed to.

Reshoots are always necessary and planned in advance with films of this scope. Joss was already on board working with Zack helping to finalize them. His previous experience working on the Avengers movies and directing their ensemble casts being a contributing factor in his invlovement.

Losing a director mid-project is always a daunting prospect. The fact that Joss Whedon is set to complete Zack Snyder’s vision will go a long way to allay fan’s fears. His previous work in the superhero movie genre speaks for itself. He’s also director of the forthcoming Batgirl, so setting a uniform tone between both projects will be a bonus.

Hopefully, Zack Snyder’s tragic loss and departure from Justice League shouldn’t have a hugely negative impact on the film. The most important part is that he spend time with his family, and that this helps in their recovery. Everyone at Dark Knight News acknowledges the Snyder family at this time, sending our deepest heartfelt condolences.

Justice League will be released in November 2017. This Batfan can’t wait!
