Matthew Perry is known for a lot of things. He’s been in such films as Almost Heroes, Fools Rush In, and The Whole Nine Yards. And unless you’ve been living under a rock since the 90’s, you probably know him most as Chandler in Friends. What you probably don’t know about Mr. Perry, is he is a huge Batman fan.
Perry, like a lot of modern fans, really got into the character through Christian Bale’s performance in Christopher Nolan’s brilliant The Dark Knight Trilogy. He got so into the character, that he began building his own, personal Batcave dedicated to the Caped Crusader. He was even gifted a statue of Batman from his manager, jokingly questioning why his manager is dedicating so much time in gift giving and not finding him work.
On Perry’s latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel himself presented Perry with a gift made from one of the show’s staff.
“One of the prop guys was so tickled by your Batman museum that he made you this very special. If you look close, you can see that’s your own chin and eyes there. It’s a Bat-Mask.”
Yes, they in fact made a replica of Matthew Perry’s face and put a Batman cowl on it as a gift. What a great gesture by the Jimmy Kimmel staff!
Kimmel went on to joke that the current actor to play Batman, Ben Affleck, has a statue in his house dedicated to Matthew Perry.
