Margot Robbie Wins Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Harley Quinn

For the most part, audiences weren’t very pleased with Suicide Squad. However, there was one beacon of light that everyone seemed to gravitate towards. Margot Robbie received universal praise from critics and fans alike for her portrayal of the Clown Princess of Crime, Harley Quinn. (I’m about to starting calling this movie “The Little Movie that Could,” because it keeps winning despite all odds. First, it won at the box office. Now, it’s winning awards… kind of)

Robbie brought enthusiasm, depth, and authenticity to the role that satisfied most viewers. And last night, she was recognized for it and received an award. The Broadcast Film Critics Association once again threw the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and bestowed upon her the title of Best Actress in an Action Movie.

The other nominees in the category were Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One from Doctor Strange, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. Big names in even bigger roles! She definitely had some competition, but the critics have spoken. Congratulations, Margot Robbie!

You can expect to see Margot Robbie return as Harley Quinn in an upcoming spin-off movie featuring the Birds of Prey!

What do you think? Well-deserved? Or were there other actresses who were better? Let me know!
