Last week, Dark Knight News reported that Ben Affleck posted a video on his Twitter page (see below) teasing that the legendary Deathstroke would be coming to the DCEU. While initial speculation thought the test footage might be for the upcoming Justice League film, Ben Affleck later confirmed that the footage was actually for his upcoming Batman solo film.
As soon as the character was confirmed, casting rumors lit the internet ablaze. One rumor that stuck out was that of Mr. Joe Manganiello being in consideration. Manganiello is best known for his work in True Blood, as a wolf pack master, and in the Magic Mike films.
Now it has officially been confirmed, according to the Wall Street Journal, that Manganiello has officially been cast to play the Batman foe, and fans couldn’t be happier. Geoff Johns confirmed the casting, but did not confirm whether Deathstroke would have a cameo or not in the upcoming Justice League film. Either way, this is going to be one brutal big-screen fight.
There is no word yet on when the Batman solo movie will debut, though speculation lands it likely in 2018.
