Expect All Telltale ‘Batman’ Episodes in 2016

Announced earlier this year and previewed last week at E3, Telltale Games will be heading to Gotham City in their next entry to their story driven video game library.  For fans that are unfamiliar with Telltale Games, the developer makes games where the decisions that the player makes are what drive the story forward.

Telltale treats their games like a TV show season, releasing games episodically.  While they try to stick to a schedule, they have a spotty history in keeping with consistent episode releases, with delayed episodes sometimes being announced only days before it is due to release.  Their games have been known to be released very choppy and buggy and with a plethora of devices to test their game engine on it is certainly understandable why they don’t always hit their release dates.

Fans can expect the inconsistent episode release schedule to end with Batman.  Speaking to Games Radar, the game’s developer Job Stauffer said that the first episode will be brought “to market soon” and that they will “have all 5 episodes out before the end of the year” with “room for dates to shift.”  If Telltale is able to truly release the full season this year, fans could expect the first episode to release in August, with each episode released once a month through December.

Telltale has brought us to many famous worlds in the past, including The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Tales from the Borderlands, all of which have received generally positive feedback from fans.  If they treat Batman like they’ve treated their past properties, fans should be in for a real treat.
