Jared Leto Dons the Joker Costume Once Again, But for What?

Jared Leto is playing the Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad live-action film and presumably for the rest of the DC Extended Universe, DC shared cinematic universe. Suicide Squad is well into post-production, if it hasn’t wrapped yet. This is all background information for the following article, you know, just in case you’ve been living under a rock.

A few days ago, Leto posted to SnapChat photos of himself in full Joker garb and makeup, which launched the Internet into a frenzy, begging the question, “Why?” The photos were promptly posted onto his Twitter to maintain it’s presence on the Internet. Suicide Squad couldn’t possibly still be in reshoots with the flick just two months away. Could he be shooting material for the Justice League movie?

Some sleuthing on Leto’s Twitter found the answer to the Justice League question. Just a day before, Leto announced that he was in Miami. Justice League is currently filming in the UK, which tells us that no, he is not filming any scenes for the highly anticipated DC team-up movie. So what could he be doing in Miami as the Joker?

Batman News got an anonymous tip that he’s shooting a music video for a song that will be featured on the Suicide Squad soundtrack. Performed by Skrillex and Rick Ross, the song currently has no title yet. The song premiered in a nightclub and features references to the movie in the lyrics.

It certainly does make sense given that Rick Ross was raised in Miami and resided there for many years. Considering the fact that Miami is not a major shooting location for any upcoming DC film, it’s a pretty decent guess. Also I highly doubt WB will allow Leto to simply roam the clubs as the Joker. However, that would be a pretty great viral marketing stunt.

For now, I’m going to classify this as a rumor. So make sure the salt shaker is within reach.

I suppose it doesn’t hurt to look out for the music video supposedly coming out soon.

Anybody have any other theories as to why he’d be dressed as the Joker in Miami? I’d love to hear them.
