‘Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition’ Release Date Confirmed

Amazon has just begun taking pre-orders for the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: Ultimate Edition Blu-ray collector set. This combo pack will include both the theatrical and much discussed R-rated director’s cut of the film, which sees release today.

The combo pack itself retails for $35.99. For the serious collector, there is also an Amazon Exclusive Collector’s Pack which includes statues of both Batman and Superman and retails for $129.99.

July 16 is a surprising move for a release date. While three months is not uncommon between the theatrical and home video releases of an indie horror or comedy, it’s an extremely quick turnaround for a huge blockbuster of this magnitude.

While we have glimpses of packaging, no special features have been announced just yet.
