Actor Common Reveals his Character in ‘Suicide Squad’

With the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just 5 days away, I have no mind towards any other movie. The anticipation building in me is incredible and I simply can’t wait too much longer. In the meantime, we’ve got some relatively big Suicide Squad news to share with you.

Actor/rapper Common was cast in Suicide Squad in an undisclosed role. Set photos have shown him decked out with tattoos and piercings leading most comic book fans to assume that he’d be a little known character named Tattoo Man.

Common and Ice Cube recently sat down with Complex to promote the upcoming Barbershop: The Next Cut, which stars these two legendary rappers. The topic eventually hits comic book movies both due to their popularity and because this will be Common’s second stab at starring as a comic book character. Common was originally cast of the Green Lantern John Stewart in George Miller’s cancelled Justice League: Mortal.

In the interview, he provides some details regarding his character in Suicide Squad. He reveals that the character will be in cahoots with Jared Leto’s Joker and goes by the name Monster T. Unfortunately, that is all we get from him.

A quick Google search shows me that Monster T is a supplement to help increase testosterone levels. Will that have any impact on the story?

It looks like David Ayer and co. have created an all-new character. It’s easy to assume that he’ll be some low-level henchman that will play a small role, but it’d be such a waste with a known name as Common.

What do you think?
