Carmine Infantino was a legendary artist during the Golden and Silver Age of comics. His art graced the panels depicting the likes of Black Canary, Green Lantern, The Flash, Batman, and Justice Society of America, amongst many, many others. Infantino was a 2000 inductee into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.
Carmine passed in April 2013, but his art lives – this time in sculpture through the newest molds of the Batman: Black & White statue series.
Infantino’s art is being rendered in sculpture by Tim Bruckner. These limited-edition resin statues will be available in June, and retail for $80.
Of Infantino’s contributions, DC Entertainment Co-Publisher, Dan DiDio said, “There are few people in this world that have had as much of an impact on the industry as Carmine. He bridged both the Golden and Silver Ages of comics, shepherding in some of the most successful periods in our history and setting the course of our characters that is still seen today. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will remain forever.”
