DC Entertainment started New York Comic Con off with a bang by offering those in attendance an in-depth look at the new DC Super Hero Girls initiative. Featuring reinterpretations of classic characters such as Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn, it is sure to capture the interest of many a new young fan and entertain the young at heart. Fans in attendance were given promo capes as evidenced below.
According to DC, here’s some of what went down:
The panel was action-packed, with many big reveals including the premiere of the second DC Super Hero Girls animated short from WB Animation along with a lyric video set to the DCSHG theme song Get Your Cape On, the full line-up of Mattel’s new action dolls, and a first look at the Supergirl action figure, also from Mattel. Authors Shea Fontana and Lisa Yee shared new details and artwork from the upcoming DC Comics graphic novel and Random House Children’s Books middle-grade novel series.
Moderated by DC All Access host Tiffany Smith, the panel featured the creative women behind-the-scenes of DC Super Hero Girls, including:
