In regards to the upcoming DC hero films, like Batman V. Superman, director Zack Snyder briefly spoke about his thoughts on the films and a follow up to Man of Steel.
We really have to figure out the why of them. And I think that we have. That’s the one thing that’s cool to me about Batman v Superman, it’s all about the mythology of these two massive icons. And I think that’s compelling.
So what about Man of Steel 2? Well, Snyder also has something to say about that, considering the upcoming film which also stars the Batman is coming out soon. According to him, he feels it’s a true follow up to the first movie.
I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2. Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be”
He also confirmed that another Superman solo film is low priority to DC’s ongoing film plans, focusing more on building the universe like with Suicide Squad, Justice League. Deadline mentioned a few months ago that Batman was getting his own solo film too.
