New Arkham Insider Answers Fan Questions and Showcases E3 Gameplay

In the latest episode of promotional webseries, Arkham Insiderthe crew takes us into the heart of the massive E3 to unveil exclusive gameplay footage and answer questions from fans. They also talk to level designer Bill Green to chat about the role of the villain Two-Face in the game and the new methods in which Batman can take him down.

“We can take advantage of the security systems,” Green says, “With an adaptation to one of Batman’s gadgets.” That being the remote hacking system. Green explains, “It has new features now where it can manipulate security systems and computers.” And these prove to be quite useful for taking down criminals as Batman can effectively use them as weapons against thugs.

Moving on from Noisy Predator, Green showcases and discusses some Batmobile gameplay. In this segment, we come face to face with the villain Firefly. Green drops some tidbits about Firefly and his importance in the game. “He’s primarily out for revenge, and so here he uses a fire station as an ironic way to get Batman’s attention. He’d love to burn down Gotham, but he knows Batman won’t let that happen, so he gets Batman’s attention however he can.”

Moving on to talk with senior gameplay programmer Alick Goldenberg about battle mode combat, he explains, “Batman finds something…embedded in the road, and it alerts the Arkham Knight to your presence and he sends in drone forces to take you down.” They go into some gameplay footage showcasing the Batmobile in combat with the Arkham Knight’s drones. “The two biggest weapons on the Batmobile,” he says, “are the Vulcan gun and the 60mm heavy cannon.” Every weapon and missile combination at the Dark Knight’s disposal is demonstrated.

Finally, we reach the fan questions, in which someone asks whether or not the game will feature moving character trophies, and this is confirmed to be true. They also confirmed first-person mode for the Batmobile and a few other surprises. Check it out below.
