‘Batman: Arkham Universe: The Ultimate Visual Guide’ Up for Pre-Order

Last year, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Batman, DC released this beautiful coffee table book called Batman: A Visual History. As you’d imagine, it’s jam-packed full of breathtaking artwork from the some of the most talented artists who have ever graced the pages of a Batman comic book. Considering that Rocksteady intends to close their Arkhamverse this year with Batman: Arkham Knight, DC seems to want to join in on the celebration and farewell. The Arkhamverse helped to revitalize interest in Batman over the years and has been celebrated in its own way for creating an interactive adventure that, for the first time, really made you feel like the Caped Crusader. Since becoming its own self-contained universe (it has its own movie), it has reached a level on-par with some of Batman’s most important incarnations.

Written by Matthew K. Manning, DC intends to release a coffee table art book for the Arkhamverse entitled Batman: Arkham Universe: The Ultimate Visual Guide. It is now up for pre-order on Amazon for about $20. I’d say that’s a bargain considering most hardcovers are nearing that price anyway. Don’t hesitate for too long because the retail price is looking to be $30 when released.

Here’s the synopsis:

Batman: Arkham Universe: The Ultimate Visual Guide details the key storylines, characters, locations, weapons, gadgets, and equipment of these award-winning, action-adventure games. The book is created in collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and RockSteady (the game’s creators), and features many of the timeless characters from DC’s Batman comics, such as the Joker, Catwoman, Robin, the Penguin, Harley Quinn, and the Riddler.

A coffee table book and a strategy guide?! This is worth picking up as a collectible, but in case you haven’t finished any of the previous Arkham games, I suggest you steer clear of those sections in the book.
