Rumor: Lex Luthor Will Suit Up in ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’

Rumors continue swirling about one of the biggest events in comic book movie history: the first onscreen appearance of both Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Here at DKN, we normally try to shy away from those rumors depending on the source. (The ones with Doomsday have very little weight.) A recent rumor cropped up from a fairly reliable source and after a brief discussion, we deemed worthy of a post.

Joblo recently got wind that Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg, will be the main villain in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and will be suiting up in his iconic green and purple warsuit. In what context, they don’t know, but they did specify that the suit will look very similar to the various iterations we’ve seen. Aside from that, it seems Joblo’s source remained very tight-lipped on most everything else.

There’s very little to go on to begin speculation, but if we were to assume this rumor is true (which is still unconfirmed), we’re looking at two battle suits that are meant to take down the Man of Steel. My guess is Batfleck or Luthenberg saw one another’s suit at some point in media coverage or in person (Lex and Bruce could be business associates), discovered its potential, and made the necessary modifications to increase its effectiveness. If any of this is possible, I would guess that it’s Luthenberg who saw Batfleck’s suit fail against Supes, which sets up the third act for when Luthenberg suits up himself with a much more lethal version of Batfleck’s. Contrite for inspiring this madman, Batfleck sets out to help Supes defeat him, uniting the two.

What a wild and crazy scenario would that be, huh? Remember the salt must be kept close by like a Batarang or pepper spray when encountering strange rumors like this.

What do you think? Excited for Luthor’s battle suit? Or is it too much? Let me know.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released to cinema on March 25, 2016.
