Jeremy Irons tells fans to expect a different Alfred in Batman v Superman

March 2016, the much anticipated epic DC film Batman v Superman will be released and Jeremy Irons has been cast to play Alfred. Mr Irons recently had a chat with Indiewire and he stated that the persona of the character in this upcoming film will be different to what we saw with the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Mr Irons explains the type of man we can expect of Alfred:

“Oh he’ll be quite different. He has an interesting history,” Irons said. “He’s a very competent man. He’s the sort of man I think anyone would like to be married to. He can sort of do everything: change light bulbs, blow up bridges if he has to.”

Zack Snyder has taken inspiration from one of the most popular Batman comics of all time in, The Dark Knight Returns. However, Batman: Earth One which was written by Geoff Johns is said to have influenced parts of the story and it is here that Alfred had a previous life in the Royal Marines.

How important do you think Alfred will be to the story in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?
