Eternal Thoughts

Batman:Eternal has been going strong every week since April. That’s quite the undertaking for a comic book, not to mention asking a lot of fans to shell out $2.99 week after week. But has it been worth it? OH YES! This reader has enjoyed the ride, which continued this week with the events of Eternal #36 and the reveal of yet another mastermind in Gotham City (read DKN’s review here). It was a great way to end an issue and set up the final act.

Newsarama recently sat down with the team behind the series ( James Tynion IV, Ray Fawkes, Kyle Higgins and Tim Seeley) for an epic interview for the epic title. The question that first comes to light is the importance of the Riddler in the story, and if he’s been the one pulling the strings for 36 issues. Fawkes weighed in.

I don’t think it would be best, at this point, to say whether the Riddler is the man behind all this or not. But I think one thing we can say is, no matter who’s out there, with whatever crazy plan they’ve got, personally, I don’t think there’s anyone who can get the jump on the Riddler, as far as making a complicated puzzle which has to be figured out.

Intriguing. A great interview on the direction the title is going for the final act. What role do you think the puzzler play in the final 16 issues of this year-long title? Sound off in the comments below!
