The Not-So Suicide Squad DLC

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham has been out for a couple weeks now and as with any major game release these days, publishers are already advertising some of the upcoming DLC for the game, including a DLC pack called The Squad. It’s a DLC pack that follows the exploits of the classic DC super villain team, but drops “Suicide” from the squad’s name. It’s understandable, Lego Batman is an adorable cartoon-y version of the DC universe we all know and love aimed predominantly at a young audience. An audience whose parents would likely not appreciate having to explain the word “suicide” to their child. Even on The CW’s Arrow The Suicide Squad is often referred to as “Task Force X” as the name can potentially be uncomfortable for younger viewers.

The Squad DLC will reportedly feature Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Amanda Waller and others, as they hunt down a mysterious intruder inside of Belle Reve Prison. The line up doesn’t seem to be based off of the upcoming motion picture, more so on the cast of the recent Assault on Arkham animated movie released earlier this year. But even though that’s a closer match, Lego’s The Squad seems to be mostly unique to the video game.

To buy this piece of DLC by itself you can spend $2.99 or spend $14.99 on the game’s season pass which includes DLC for Batman 66, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Arrow, Man of Steel and others.
