Liam Neeson Is Game To Play Ra’s al Ghul On ‘Arrow’

Liam Neeson, known the world over to Batfans for his stellar portrayal of Ra’s al Ghul in Batman Begins, recently chatted with MTV. They asked him if he had been approached by the producers of Arrow about reprising the role. He said he had not, but had this to say when asked if he would do it:

I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah.Very much so.

It was revealed at San Diego Comic Con last month that Ra’s will indeed be the big bad in Arrow Season 3. It would be cool to see Neeson return, but we’re far more likely to see a new actor fill those shoes. Here’s his advice to them:

They have to believe in their philosophy. Ra’s al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it.

While it would be great to see him as the Demon’s Head yet again, let’s keep in mind that this is a different iteration of the character and likely closer to the comic book counterpart than Christopher Nolan’s take. I wouldn’t doubt if we see a true immortal this time around. We have to wonder if The CW can afford an actor of Neeson’s stature. Not only that, it could also confuse casual viewers who don’t differentiate between TV and movie universes.
