Gotham Central #1 Gets $1 Reprint In Time For TV Show

DC Comics really wants everyone to be pumped up for Fox’s upcoming Batman prequel television series, Gotham. One way they plan to do so is to offer a reprint of Gotham Central #1, to be retitled Gotham Central Special Edition #1. It won’t require that big of a financial commitment from you, as the cover price will be set at just $1. You can pick it up at your local comic shop on September 17, which is just five days before the TV show’s premiere (September 22). I should point out that not all comic shops bother to order dollar reprints or sampler books, so talk to someone at your shop of choice to make sure that you can get a copy, should you be interested.

While the show Gotham isn’t an adaptation of Gotham Central per se, it’s likely influenced by it in certain respects. It’s a smart move by DC to do this because, not only will it hype the TV show, it will perhaps boost sales of Gotham Central trade paperbacks. For those unfamiliar, it was a title that focused primarily on the GCPD. You can check out the cover below.
