‘Batman’ 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray Coming This November (UPDATED)

It was announced several months ago that a 25th Anniversary Edition of Tim Burton’s Batman would be hitting store shelves sometime this year. Today we can give you a concrete date: November 11, the same day Batman: The Complete TV Series will be available for purchase. You can check out the cover art for the Diamond Luxe packaged Blu-Ray to the left.

We don’t know much about the bonus features at the moment, but the two-disc set will include Batman: The Birth of the Modern Blockbuster, which will examine the marketing, merchandising, etc. Apparently featurettes included on previous editions will be included and we’ll let you know if anymore will be added.

WB Chairman and Chief Executive Kevin Tsujihara said earlier this year, “Batman is an incredibly important property with multi-generational appeal across all of the Studio’s businesses, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone anniversary. From billion-dollar blockbuster films to TV, home entertainment, video games and consumer products, The Dark Knight continues to resonate with audiences worldwide and rightfully deserves his place as a global pop culture icon for the ages.”

As of now, it looks like there may not be a standard definition DVD for this version. Stay tuned to DKN for updates.

UPDATE: Legions of Gotham has a better look at the cover art. Check it out.
