‘Batman’ TV Series Gets Release Date, Box Art (UPDATED)

You have probably heard by now that the classic Batman TV series from the 1960s will get a home release later this year. As of today, we have a concrete street date: November 11, 2014. You will be able to see Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) dispense justice to the likes of Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, and Louie The Lilac on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital download formats.

All 120 episodes will be included with bonus features to be announced at San Diego Comic Con next week. While an official price hasn’t been listed to my knowledge, Amazon is taking pre-orders for the Blu-Ray edition and the price tag isn’t pretty: $188.98! Holy second mortgage, Batman! I imagine that the DVD price won’t be much lower. This kind of makes me wish that they sold the seasons individually to make it more affordable. Who knows? Maybe they eventually will. The Blu-Ray box art, which you can view below, does say “limited edition”.

UPDATE: We also have the cover for the DVD format.
