This will be the second article I write today in which I say I normally don’t give credence to rumors. However, there is a man I’m willing to pay attention to: El Mayimbe from Latino Review. It’s quite obvious that I’m not the only one. I really don’t know why so many people give him a hard time because I feel a lot of what he says tends to pan out.
His latest scoop alleges that Ben Affleck will get a solo Batman film in 2019, with a working title of “The Batman”. With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arriving in 2016 and Justice League arriving in either 2017 or 2018, a 2019 released date for a solo Batman film sounds entirely realistic. Plus, we’re all pretty certain that Affleck getting his own film down the line is a given. Batman is WB’s golden boy and no matter what happens to the superhero genre, Batman films will always be around.
