Batman #30 Review

Awesome. Incredible. Surprising. Fresh. Shocking. You choose which best describes Scott Snyder’s Batman run because I’m running out of words. If you stop and think about it, it’s unbelievable that after 75 years, Snyder is able to deliver incredible stories of The Dark Knight month after month, and it’s something new every time. If he’s not at the top of your list of greatest Batman writers of all time, then you’re just wrong.

And don’t get me started on the Greg Capullo’s art… and I mean that in a good way.

But I’m not here to just brag about the team, but to give my review of his latest work, Batman #30. To sum it up, just reread the first five words of this post.

Synopsis: “Zero Year: Savage City” begins!

Yep, that’s it, but here are a few things to look for:

  • A familiar fling
  • The kid from the first issue
  • Definition of ZY
  • Tough times for Gordon
  • A nod to The Dark Knight Rises
  • Strike

We’re in the home stretch here, with ZY wrapping up in the next three issues. Some answers are solved, but more questions still linger.

When will Scott Snyder write an issue that you shouldn’t BUY? Now that’s a riddle.
