The Lego Movie Banner Featuring The Dark Knight

Growing up in the 90s, there were a few things I had more burning passion for than consuming Batman related media, and Legos. I wrote fondly a while ago about some of the best Batman games of all time, and I put Lego Batman on the list, not just because it was a fun game, but because Batman and Lego seemed to go together like Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. It just worked, even if the two couldn’t be more different. Lego Batman is not the end of  Batman in Lego media though. Imagine my joy at seeing a Legofied Batman on a banner for the upcoming The Lego Movie.

Even the very idea that Batman is going to be a Lego movie, and appearing on the marketing ads, would have blown my 8 year old self’s mind out of it’s skull, and I would have killed to see my two great hobbies joined together in a feature length movie. So seeing this in my 20-somethings, it’s not only bringing me back to a fond nostalgic place in my head, but also leaving me excited to see the movie, not just for Batman, but to recapture a little of that old magic that came from building Lego Batcaves, or trying my hardest not to step on a Lego I left laying on the floor. Nostalgia aside, it does seem to be shaping up to be a fun movie. Batman is just the icing on the cake for me. It also helps that Liam Neeson is going to be in the film doing a voice of one of the Legos, so if I close my eyes, I can just pretend he’s playing Lego Ra’s Al Ghul.
