Ben Continues to Bulk up for Batman Role, but is it too Soon?

We all agree that Batman should possess a muscular physique, perhaps not simply for aesthetic value, but primarily for purposes of functionality; after all, he is still a human male, despite also being a superhero, and as a human hero, he relies on his physical and mental strength and endurance.

If we look back far enough, we can remember Christian Bale’s radical weight changes, particularly when Bale transitioned from The Machinist to Batman Begins, or rather, from a role that demanded emaciation to a role that required peak physical form .  Now, as the days and years pass, we discover that a new Batman is in town, and perhaps naturally, we begin to consider what the extent of his Bat-musculature will be.

Ben begins to bulk up.

Ben Affleck has begun, or rather, has continued to bulk up for his upcoming Batman role, and this is most likely good news for Bat-fans.  However, Affleck is currently shooting with David Fincher for a film called Gone Girl, which does not require the actor to be as beefy as the Batman.  Referring to his current bulk, Gone Girl costume designer Trish Summerville said:

I’m trying to keep him at the size he’s at right now until he’s done with us. I’m sure he’s working out but I think for him, he’s probably a guy that builds up really quickly so I just kind of asked him if he can stay where he’s at right now.

Naturally, we can deduce that, much like Bale, Affleck will not have much difficulty attaining an appropriate Batman physique.

Furthermore, Yahoo Movies UK said:

…there have already been plenty of rumours that Affleck has started hitting the gym – apparently, starting off with two hours a day after he landed the role. And while director Zack Snyder usually likes to pair his stars with professional trainer Gym Jones, it looks as though Affleck will be working with his own personal trainer.

Every actor does things differently; after all, we are all individuals.  Whatever Affleck is doing for his body seems to be working so far, and it seems that we can rest assured that Ben will bring the beefiness to the Batsuit.

Let the training continue!
