SPOILER WARNINGS! A lot of really cool moments happen weekly in comics. Given the number of titles related to the Dark Knight, it’s kinda hard to follow them all. Every week I’ll recap what I consider the coolest, most memorable moment in the DC Bat-Universe. With that said, please know that these articles will contain SPOILERS. You’ve been warned.
This week’s bat-moment occurs in the latest chapter of super-scribe, Scott Snyder’s Batman: Zero Year (Batman #24). The team of Snyder and penciller, Greg Capullo have been re-telling the New 52 origin in the pages of Batman. This extra-sized issue has several key moments in Batman history but the most bad-ass, just freaking awesome moment happens at the beginning of the issue.
Batman’s first appearance is a perfect blend of old and new. There are lots of nods to the rich past of the Dark Knight (keep your eyes peeled for moments from Tim Burton’s Batman). This is definitely not Batman: Year One or Batman Begins, it’s unique and definitively an origin of a Batman that exists in a world populated by the unique and bizarre.
That’s my moment of the week. Disagree, have another moment that stood out in the bat-books or you agree with me, let us know by leaving your comments below or hitting us up on Facebook or Twitter.
See you next week…same bat-day, same bat- website.
