More Truth in Rumor of a Possible Gotham PD TV Series

It reported recently that a new Gotham PD TV series set in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy universe was in the works, but at the time, it was only just a rumor. Some evidence has surfaced that corroborates the rumor. Click the jump to see more.

Earlier last month, it was reported that there was a possible Nolanverse drama series in the works that would feature the GCPD’s attempts at fending off Batman’s rogues during Batman’s self-imposed exile between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. At the time, it was simply a rumor without any official word to back it. Though, official word has yet to come out regarding the development of this series, it seems that some evidence has surfaced that corroborates the possible Gotham PD series.

It was reported by ComicBook.com that DC Comics Warner Communications Inc. had registered two trademarks for “Gotham.” One that covers any TV programs and one for downloadable content. Accordingly, it was registered via USPTO.gov about a week ago, but I wasn’t able to find any such registration, so I’d take this with some salt.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the idea as I generally don’t like dramas nor procedurals too much, but you never know, it could easily surprise me. And it’d be fun and interesting to see how they can ground some of the more ridiculous rogues.

Do you think this evidence spells a new Gotham PD TV series? Are you a fan of the idea? Let me know.
