While speaking to Boston.com, Bryan Cranston neither denies or confirms his involvement in WB’s Man of Steel. In addressing the Internet rumor, Cranston (who plays Walter White in the hit AMC series, Breaking Bad) had this to say about the rumored six-picture deal originally reported by Cosmic Book News:
“Six? This is all news to me,” he said to Boston.com. “I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I’m known to be bald. ‘What bald guy can we get?’ The reality is they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him.”
While he does deny signing a six-picture deal, he never addresses if he’s involved in the casting or not. Fans (myself included) are enamored with the idea of Cranston playing the arch nemesis of Superman. While this interview does take a bit of air out of the rumors, it by no means indicates that he may not be in the running.
Cranston, in discussing his future plans, says “There [are] some irons in the fire, things that people are talking about, but nothing is set.” Is this Batman vs. Superman? In the interim, we can all continue to watch the actor finish his run on the acclaimed drama, as Breaking Bad comes to a close at the end of this month, and speculate on his super villain future.
Is Bryan Cranston your pick for Lex Luthor? Is he playing the Hollywood game till a deal is officially announced?
