PLOT: Superman confronts Batman on his home turf. Meanwhile, the rest of the heroes turn their attention to a potential adversary from under the sea…
REACTIONS: Damian lives on in Injustice: Gods Among Us. We knew that the little lovable brat was going to be in the series, we just didn’t know when. Since his
Injustice: Gods Among Us continues to be an excellent series as Tom Taylor (writer of Injustice) sets up the prequel events of the video game that will be released on April 16th. As things begin to heat up, words mean less and actions are seriously taken up a couple notches among the heroes vs. the world. Issue #10 of the series (digital copy), focuses on what’s going on in the world and if Batman agrees with what actions are being taken to create world peace.
PRAISES: We see more of the Bat-family members in Injustice: Gods Among Us #10 (digital copy), this is the second appearance of Nightwing and the first
From what we see in this issue, Damian is glad to know that the Joker is gone. So, does that mean the Joker’s dead at this point? If he is, then how is Joker in the Injustice game? How does Batman feel about this? Well, in this issue Taylor addresses it as Superman and Batman have their little spat together that results in Superman ripping off Batman’s cowl. This is what I like to call an “OH S***” moment. Kudos to Mark Miller (current issue artist) for bringing tons of suspense in this issue showing off the tension that is not only rising, but may also be dividing
DISAPPOINTMENTS: This is more of a nitpick, but a lot of Batman fans who are Nightwing and Damian Wayne fans will scream out that both of these characters have black hair and not brown. The coloring problem has been a consistent concern for this series, where Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) has black hair instead of brown hair. Alexandro Sanchez and David Lopez from Ikari Studio should have started to fix this problem for the next future issues, but I’m sure that the coloring problem won’t be fixed until Issue #20.
I do miss, Damian’s yellow cape because this is what we know from the DC Universe. As usual, Injustice does not have to pay attention to the continuity of The New 52’s; but since Damian’s death in Batman INC I might have aggressive nostalgia for the character’s design. I’m not sure of Damian’s age in this series, we know that he’s supposed to be ten years old but it seems that he is at least 12-15 years old due the art presentation in this issue. He seems older and less kid-like in the face and body. I’m sure Batman fans wouldn’t mind an older version of Damian, but as I said before there is a bit of nostalgia for the ten year old since his death in Batman INC.
