1960s Batman & Catwoman meets Mattel’s Ken & Barbie

With the news of 1960s Batman having toys coming out now,  Mattel released news  over the weekend that Mattel is adding the 1960’s Batman & Catwoman to their Barbie collection.   It appears both will have removable masks.

As an action figure guy, I’ve been pretty stoked on Mattel’s upcoming line of 6″ Batman action figures based on the 1966 live action TV series starring Adam West. If you’re a Barbie collector, however, you may want to make sure you’re sitting down to look at Mattel’s newly revealed Lee Meriwether/Julie Newmar/Eartha Kitt-style Catwoman Barbie and West-flavored Batman Ken. Each of the cosplaying dolls can now be preordered through the official Barbie Collector site for $34.95 a pop. They’re not expected to ship until June, so if you’re desperate for an in-scale Barbie Batmobile for these two to cruise around in (or, say, a Skipper doll dressed as Robin), now’s a good time to start letting Mattel know.

What do you guys/gal’s think? Is this enough to do you over for less than 48 hours? Or did it make the next few days even worse?
