Dark Knight Rises’ No. 1 At Box Office For Second Week In A Row

 

The third and final chapter of  Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy , ticket sales dropped 60% to $64.1 million during its second weekend in theaters, according to Warner Bros. The film has earned $289.1 million in the U.S. and Canada. About $25 million less than “The Dark Knight” made during the same time period in 2008.

NRG reported that 20% of moviegoers were reluctant to head to theaters because of what happened in Aurora. The start of the Olympics this weekend also may have also affected ticket sales.
