NECA Reveals NYCC Exclusive Figure: Batman vs Alien

Article by Adam Poncharoensub

Earlier this summer NECA unveiled an SDCC exclusive toy, featuring our beloved Batman pitted against an iconic cinema creature known as Predator. Well, it looks like NECA is at it again and Batman will be facing off against yet another horror movie icon. As New York Comic-Con exclusives, NECA have proudly unveiled their Batman vs Alien set, featuring Bats engaging in fisticuffs against a xenomorph which has been made-over with a Joker motif.

The original Batman/Aliens mini-series was originally published back in 1997 as a collaboration between Dark Horse and DC Comics. However, based on the Joker-themed Xenomorph, it seems that this Batman vs Alien set is moreso based on the Batcr@p crazy sequel from 2003.

In Arkham, no one can hear you laugh?

Take a look at the photos below:

Here are the specs:

Batman/Aliens – 7” Scale Action Figures – Batman and “Joker” Alien 2-Pack

This action figure 2-pack is inspired by a classic comic book mash-up! In the 1997 Batman/Aliens comic book mini-series co-published by DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics.

In it, Batman faces strange new Aliens produced using DNA from some of Arkham Asylum’s deadliest inmates. The set includes two brand new, comic book based figures, both with over 30 points of articulation. Batman features a fabric cape, and the “Joker” Alien has a bendable tail.

Because there were so many photos, it was a bit tough to choose which ones to upload. As a result, I based my criteria mostly on photos that showcased the extreme detail on the Xenomorph. Similar to the comic book mini-series, this set will surely be a crossover hit with both Batfans and cinephiles. As a huge fan of the original 1979 masterpiece by Ridley Scott, I was particularly excited to pore over the images of the the Joker Alien. Yes, I definitely think this will one will make it into my collection at some point.

New York Comic-Con takes place on October 3 to October 6. Stay tuned to DKN for more updates.
