Fox Releases ‘Gotham’ “White Band” Trailer Promoting Jeremiah

Gotham finally did it. They gave us the Joker. Just a different sort of Joker.

In case you’re not caught up, in the last few episodes, Jerome searched for and discovered his twin brother, Jeremiah. Upon his death, he concocted an “Insanity” gas and sprayed Jeremiah with it. The gas bleached his face white with red lips, giving birth to the Joker.

Since then, we’ve found that Jeremiah is less maniacal than that of Jerome and far more cold and calculating, which is arguably more dangerous. I love that each brother has a distinct personality and each one interprets insanity differently. It’s as if merging the two brothers would create the true Joker. Gotham really did find themselves a gem when they cast the extremely talented Cameron Monaghan to bring their Joker to life.

With only two episodes left in the season with the Joker finally born, Gotham is gonna double down on Jeremiah. Fox has cut together an insanely well done trailer (pun was a happy coincidence) called the “White Band” trailer, hyping up what Jeremiah has in store for Gotham and… Bruce Wayne.

It’s Time to Give Gotham City Its New Face

Aside from the brilliant performance of Monaghan’s restrained, emotionless Jeremiah, I’m definitely getting a Killing Joke vibe. It’s not exactly the same, but there’s a similarity. It seems that he’s trying to push Bruce to the brink by projecting images of Alfred in a broken and beaten position. He wants to unleash “Something special” in Bruce and that could be the Batman. The parallels are there and I don’t think it requires further explanation.

With Monaghan as their trump card and Jeremiah embracing his insanity, the last two episodes of season 4 are not to be missed.

Season 4, Episode 20, called “One Bad Day” airs on May 10th, 2018 on Fox.
