Cameron Monaghan Reveals ‘Gotham’s’ Jerome Will Appear in the Episode after the Midseason Premiere

Jerome is Gotham’s most enduring and most interesting character. Though he’s NOT the Joker, he’s one of the best live-action Jokers we’ve ever had. It feels to me that he embodies what Mark Hamill set out to do in his legendary turn in Batman: The Animated Series. He is truly both a psychopath and a clown and I love it.

Though the marketing has been very Jerome-heavy, as we saw in the sneak peek released a few weeks ago, he will be in Arkham Asylum forging an unlikely alliance with Robin Lord Taylor’s Penguin. Unfortunately, Cameron Monaghan, the actor who brings Jerome to life, has confirmed that he will NOT appear in the midseason premiere airing this Thursday. Instead, fans will just have to wait one more week to see him grace the screen.

“Oh, we’re gonna have so much fun together.”

Monaghan took to Instagram to promote the premiere and casually drops the news that Jerome will appear in less than two weeks.

He’s certainly going to be in the early stages of this half of the season, so don’t fret. It looks like they use Jerome in increments, but it’s far more often than I prefer, but I suppose this is just a case of giving fans what they want.

Gotham Season 4, episode 12, entitled “Pieces of a Broken Mirror will return on Thursday, March 1st at 8PM EST.

Jerome will appear in Season 4, episode 13, entitled “A Beautiful Darkness,” airing Thursday, March 8th.
