‘Justice League’ Box Office Update: Week 2

Justice League added $59.6 million to the domestic weekend box office.

These numbers puts the domestic total at $171.5 million. The superhero team-up film ranked in second place in North America during the Thanksgiving holiday. The movie dropped 57% in audience attendance from the opening weekend.

Internationally, Justice League did much better, earning an additional $72.2 million in 66 foreign markets. The combined total of domestic and foreign box offices puts the movie’s worldwide sum at $481.3 million.

Box Office Disappointment?

While the 57% audience drop is big, there is still hope. It is still much better than Batman v Superman’s 70% second week plummet. Fortunately, the movie still has potential for some legs. The film has three weeks of no new films to directly compete with it before Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out. The flick can still do moderate business during those three weeks.

Justice League is now playing in theaters.
