SDCC 2017: Mattel Releasing ‘Justice League’ Batmobile

One of Batman’s most important, and frankly most badass, tools in his armory is the Batmobile. Along with the Batsuit, the Batmobile design is always one of the most anticipated for each film, and Justice League is no exception.

Batman’s vehicle in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a perfect mix of Tim Burton’s classic, sporty design and Christopher Nolan’s practical, tank like features.

Unfortunately, everyone’s favorite car usually has a tough time making it through films.  Keaton’s was…stripped?…to fit through a narrow alley, Kilmer’s was blown up by the Riddler, Clooney’s was frozen by Freeze, and Bale’s was sacrificed to save Harvey Dent.

Besides getting dinged up by crashing into the Man of Steel himself, Affleck’s vehicle did survive the events of BvS and as we’ve seen, is getting a major upgrade to defend Earth from the coming battle against Steppenwolf, Darkseid, and their army of parademons.

If you wanted to cruise Gotham in your very own Batmobile from Justice League, you will get the chance to do so later this year with Mattel and Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ remote-controlled Batmobile.

The vehicle will set you back $249.99, has a highly detailed design from the film, and can be controlled using an app on your smartphone or tablet.  The app will also allow users to drive the vehicle from the Batman’s point of view using a camera in the cockpit.

Mattel’s project designer Michael Kadile said that the car will be able to travel up to 6 to 7 mph and weighs about 4 pounds.  It comes with moving missiles (to shoot parademons, of course), makes engine sounds, and has smoke that comes from the exhaust.

The vehicle also comes with a Batman figure from the film that’s arms will turn with the steering wheel to make him appear to actually be controlling the vehicle.
