On June 9th, our hearts hung heavy when we lost the cherished actor, Adam West. He left us at 88, but left us with a lifetime of legacies. Batman (1966) was not the only influential character he played. The eccentric Mayor Adam West from Seth Macfarlane’s Family Guy pays a tribute to their major of Quahog. He appeared in over a 100 episodes and always enriched the moment.

West will continue appearing in the series 16th season. It’ll be such a treat to hear from him still, as he was recorded 5 episodes into the season before his passing.

Executive producer, Steve Callaghan spoke on this:

“He’s such an integral part of the series that it never even occurred to us to take [his episodes] out. I would almost feel like that was somehow not properly honoring him. I think the proper way to honor him is to keep the character in the show.”

I’m sure everyone appreciates Callaghan making this decision. It’s a wonderful way to honor him.

The video is comprised of several iconic Mayor West scenes, and ending with a drawing of the Griffin family affectionately gazing onto a statue of their mayor. “We’ll miss you dearly. Quahog couldn’t have had a better mayor. We couldn’t have had a better friend.” Ending with Adam West swinging a bat.

Family Guy returns to Fox on October 1st, 2017.
