DC Comics have revealed that Dark Knights: Metal #1 will be launched in comic-book stores worldwide at official Midnight Release Parties! Here, fans can purchase all the variant covers and a limited edition lithograph by Greg Capullo.

Over the last few months, writer Scott Snyder has teased this universe spanning comics event. The preview books, Dark Days: The Forge and Dark Days: The Casting have hinted at new, dark, and disturbing corners of the DC Multiverse.
As DARK NIGHTS: METAL begins, a new threat is revealed that will push Batman and his allies to their limits. The creative teams are made up of some of the finest talents working in comics today.

Acclaimed Batman writer Scott Snyder has this to say about his latest venture:
I’ve been planning METAL for as long as I’ve been writing Batman, but this is bigger than Batman. Greg (Capullo) and I started dropping clues during Court of Owls, continued through our Joker stories and in the run that culminated with Batman #50. And now we’re back to tell a story that breaks everything apart. This will be the definitive project of our careers. Metal takes us in an entirely new direction. We will dig beneath the surface of all the stories to find a place of terror and twisted nightmares.
With new threats, evil Batmen, and stellar creative talent, Dark Nights: Metal is shaping up to be a “Must buy” collection.
I wholeheartedly recommend contacting your local comic shops, to see whether they’ll be participating in the preview parties. After all… there ain’t no party like a Batman party.
