Ben Affleck’s Favorite Batman Revealed

It’s been long since debated which actor holds the title of “The Best Batman.” Some say Adam West. Some say Michael Keaton. None say Val Kilmer. People like the classics. However, within the last few years we’ve had two new actors take up the mantle in live action and LEGO forms: Ben Affleck and Will Arnett. There is no denying that Arnett plays a wonderfully funny LEGO Batman – a nice contrast to the dark and brooding Affleck, but which one is better?

Recently, actor Matt Damon was a guest on The Late Show with James Cordon alongside LEGO Batman star Will Arnett. Damon being a life-long friend and collaborator of Affleck’s, the conversation naturally strayed one way: James asked Matt who his favorite Batman is, and his answer was an interesting one to say the least.

Well, look, I actually have it on good authority that Will is actually Ben’s favorite Batman. Absolutely, absolutely. Yeah, yeah, we’re all fans of LEGO Batman. I went this last weekend with my kids, and it’s just awesome.

My personal favorite part of this interview was the little anecdote about Affleck’s son, Sam, believing that his dad really is Batman. You can check it out in the video below or in a transcription below that!

Ben … he really took the Batman thing pretty seriously, because the 4-year-old thinks he’s actually Batman. But what happened — this twist that none of us saw coming — like, that was a really sweet thing, and we’re all excited: ‘Oh, that’s cute, Sam thinks he’s Batman.’ But then Sam was convinced the FedEx guy was The Joker, because it’s the same colors, you know? The green, and the purple. And so, whenever the FedEx guy comes, which is often — they get packages and scripts and stuff like that — it’s, ‘Dad! Dad! Joker here! Joker here!’ So Ben is literally on a first-name basis with this guy, because he went out the first day and was like, ‘I’ll give you 20 bucks if, like, we pretend to fight. My kid thinks you’re The Joker.’ And so he has to send him away every day: ‘Get out of here, Joker!‘ He does his Batman voice, and his kid thinks he’s the greatest thing ever.

The LEGO Batman Movie starring Will Arnett is playing in cinemas everywhere right now. You can stay up to date with all of the latest LEGO Batman box office news here at Dark Knight News.
