‘LEGO Batman Movie’ Tops the Weekend Box Office

The LEGO Batman Movie opened this past weekend to a cool $55.6 million domestically.

The $55.6 million was from from 4,088 theaters. Its box office ended up beating out other new movies, like Fifty Shades of  Darker or John Wick: Chapter 2. While this does not quite match The LEGO Movie’s $69 million opening made in 2014, it is still highly successfully given its budget of $80 million.

On top of that, the film grossed $37 million internationally from 60 foreign markets. This brings LEGO Batman Movie a worldwide total of $92.6 million.

The LEGO Batman Movie is now in theaters everywhere.
