It’s certainly no secret that the Mad Max franchise is enjoying a pop culture resurgence. Ever since the release of Mad Max: Fury Road last spring, fans have eaten up anything having to do with the film and have since cosplayed the poop out of those characters. Case in point: a nightclub I frequent is hosting an event inspired by the film later this month.

Considering that Fury Road took home six Oscars last night – Best Film Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing – we thought it best to let you know that you can read historic with the following titles from Vertigo.

Mad Max: Fury Road  – The same minds behind the Oscar winning film, writer-director George Miller, cowriter Nico Lathouris and cowriter-storyboard artist Mark Sexton-present prequel tales set within the world of the blockbuster film and follow Immortan Joe, along with the indomitable Nux, Furiosa, and experience the cycle of violence and tragedy as the Road Warrior Max Rockatansky fights to rebuild his Interceptor-the vehicle that ensures his freedom! Mad Max: Fury Road is an amazing film, but as writer and concept artist Mark Sexton makes clear, the movie’s only part of the story. For the rest, you’ll have to read the comic!

Mad Max: Fury Road Inspired Artists  65 of comics best artists took to the post apocalyptic landscape to interpret this gorgeous and desolate world of George Miller’s design. From breathtaking action sequences to heartbreaking character portraits, each of these visionary artists brings their unique style to a double page spread of part of the world of Mad Max.

Available now, don’t wait to get your hands on these incredible stories! The collected edition, featuring all four comics plus a bonus story only available in the collection, is now available in print and as a digital download. The art book can be found online and in stores.
