DKN readers know that I’m not fond of rumors, but this one comes from a decent source and is really making its rounds. The Wrap reports that Oscar winning actor Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) is being courted to play the Joker in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. They claim this is the role Ryan Gosling was in talks to play.
The Joker is not a character who has been known to be a member of this gun for hire team. It’s possible he could be a villain in the picture, but if Harley Quinn does indeed show up in the film, it stands to reason that Puddin’ may appear as well. The addition of such a high profile character would definitely add mainstream appeal to a film assumedly packed with lesser known characters.
Let’s not forget that Will Smith, Tom Hardy, and Margot Robbie are also said to be in talks for starring roles with Jesse Eisenberg allegedly reprising his role of Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
