In the video above, you can check out a sneak peek featurette for the upcoming animated film Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. It’s included on the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Batman: Assault on Arkham (available today). From what I can gather, it looks to be a rather loose adaptation of the comic book arc that it’s based on. In addition to exploring Aquaman’s origin, it looks like we’ll get a dose of the Superman/ Wonder Woman romance that has been going on in The New 52. Despite its possible deviation from the source material, I have faith in the WB Animation team and remain optimistic. However, there is one curious detail at the end of the clip: it says the film is coming this fall. It was originally said to be an early 2015 release, which is in keeping with WB putting out three DC DTV films each year. Perhaps it was a slip up. I guess we’ll know before long.
The voice cast includes, Jason O’Mara as Batman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Matt Lanter as Aquaman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, among others. Enjoy some screen caps below, courtesy of Idle Hands.
