DKN EXCLUSIVE: Photos From The ‘Batman v Superman’ Corktown Set

If you’ve been following the production of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, then you probably know about the recent construction of a set in the Corktown area of Downtown Detroit. We’re happy to bring you some exclusive shots from this weekend of that very location. It looks like they’re painting quite the picture of destruction (Doomsday?!).

Stay tuned to DKN as we hope to bring you more set photos in the future and be sure to check out my colleague Adam Poncharoensub’s weekly column “This Week On The ‘BvS’ Set” every Sunday. Special thanks go to my good friend Jade Nicole for taking these shots.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. It opens May 6 ,2016.

After falling into a vat of chemicals, this fellow adopted the name "Eric Joseph." Some say he is a freelance writer, while others say he can be found frequenting conventions and nightspots in the Detroit area. Needless to say, he prefers his background to be multiple choice.

I have a theory. The weird looking wood frames with the concrete looking debris on it, are sitting on trailers. Plus everything that’s in the lot across the street looks to be easily moved.
I think they will wait till the last minute to finish the structure in front of the building then move everything over from across the street. It will probably take up much of the street but still have room for a chase scene.
As for the big wall in the lot? Probably just a green screen to cover the container structure. And finally the big black building might have a giant green screen draped over where the camera will shoot or they will just fix it to look destroyed with matte painting in post production.

Either way this is a lot of work for a scene. Expect it to be at least 5 minutes of screen time.
