Forever Evil: Blight Announced

When Forever Evil was launched, it quickly spread out over the entire DCU — it quickly became the basis for may other events, such as Villains Month, Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion, and Forever Evil: Arkham War. This has all been exciting news, but somewhere at the back of their minds, every fan knows that the Justice League can’t really be dead. . . can they?

In Justice League Dark #24, it was shown that somehow or another, John Constantine managed to survive the fallout of the Crime Syndicate’s arrival on earth, whilst the rest of the Justice League Dark did not. John Constantine, it will be revealed in Justice League Dark #24 when it hits the shelves, was able to survive because he was protected by the House of Mystery, and, in denial of their deaths, will cast a spell in an attempt to locate the rest of the Justice League Dark. This will not work, however, since the spell will be blocked out by the enhanced levels of evil in the universe (yes, you heard me correctly) that have been present since the Crime Syndicate’s arrival on earth. This evil has taken a physical form: Blight. After Blight learns of Constantine’s search, he takes a human host, and Constantine, along with Nightmare Nurse, Swamp Thing, and the Trinity of Sin (Pandora, Phantom Stranger, and The Question), will be forced to take him on.

Here are some images from Forever Evil: Blight, including artist Mikel Janin’s character design for Blight:

This event will have 18 parts, and may be the explanation as to where the world’s heroes have gone, and whether or not we’ll be able to get them back (and whether or not the way in which we get them back is a huge, convoluted, metaphysical cop-out). Here’s hoping that the Justice league isn’t just brought back with magic.

The story of Constantine’s quest to eliminate Blight will be told in the following issues:
