Jeffrey Dean Morgan Being Eyed For Batman?

At this point, we need a television show dedicated to the search for who will take up the cape and cowl next.  This week in the never ending search for the next Batman, Jeffery Dean Morgan, who many of you will come to know him as The Comedian from Watchmen, is the latest older actor added to the list of potentials.   Think McFly Think reports that Morgan is meeting with Snyder about playing the dark knight.

Now bare with me for a moment.  I at least think we can start to figure this thing out and will make an educated guess about who it will be.  We know that WB is looking for an older actor to convey a Batman influenced by Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.  We have a long list of potentials. Rumored or not the list gives clues about who they will eventually choose.  They are looking for someone with a little age to them or someone who has the class of a fine wine so to speak.  And we know they are looking for who can do dark, actually.  Here’s where things get interesting.  If you’ve listened to our recent podcast you know that this is the second time an actor from Watchmen has been brought up.  Why is this important?  Well for starters, in this line of wok you do what you know.  Snyder has already worked with him recently and is aware of his range and abilities.  This is just smart planing.  Also, this is the second time where it has been reported that Snyder is meeting with someone personally about Supes Vs. Bats.  While this all could very well be a rumor that turned out to be just smoke ( wink wink) it might be wise to take in account the signs.  That is why I am declaring Jeffery Dean Morgan as the next Batman, or at least someone Snyder has worked with before.  It is not only a smart choice, it’s safe for WB to bank on a face familiar to cbm fans and followers of Morgan.  What do you guys think?  Am I wrong?  As much as I want my secret lover Mr. Gosling to be my knight in jet black amour, I think this a solid choice.  And for all the people who say he’s too old, RDJ is 48 and will be playing Tony Stark well into his 50’s.  And while it may be a good choice to go with someone younger, the whole point of establishing this universe is to tell other stories, not related to Batman.
